I was thinking the other day about Girl Scout cookies and how much I'd really love to eat some (and by some, I mean several boxes). I did something that only a real Girl Scout cookie lover would do and googled "how to order Girl Scout cookies online". Turns out - you can't. If you don't have access to a real live Girl Scout, you can't have any cookies. SO sad, I know. (And in my opinion this is a really stupid decision. These Girl Scouts are missing out on an entire market of the cookie selling business and could be racking up tons of dough. I mean think about it: a cookie that's only available seasonally and that everyone loves, is a high commodity... but I digress)
After all this googling, reflecting on poor business decisions, and calling my mom to see if she knew any Girl Scouts who could hook me up, I had a fabulous idea ... I'll make myself some Girl Scout Cookies!
I'm going to test out one of the above cookies in my kitchen and then report back so that you can all make your own Girl Scout cookies & impresses someone with your awesome baking skills.
So the question is:
WHICH COOKIE SHOULD I BAKE?!
1. Samoas
2. Tagalongs
3. Thin Mints
Leave a comment letting me know your preference.
If one of the above three isn't your favorite Girl Scout cookie - I would get your taste buds checked out immediately. Okay fine, maybe an argument can be made for the shortbreads, simple sugar and buttery goodness - but I draw the line there. Everyone knows these are the best options.
I'll tally up the answers this weekend and get to work!

Definitely make samoas! MY FAVE :-) And someone at my office is selling them for her daughter - i'm screwed.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of thin mints and tagalongs! I actually tried a recipe for thin mints, but it didn't work out so well. Mainly that's because I cut them to think so they were like nugget mints! But those are my favorites :) And I'm with you, I'm definitely in the girl scout cookie mode!
ReplyDeletesooo lame they dont sell GS cookies online! we have a GS mom in our office so i've already ordered my samosas + peanut butter tag alongs.. i think you should try making the samosas! xoxo jillian:: cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteThese are definitely the top 3 of all Girl Scout Cookies- my favorite are the Samoas! :) Thank goodness my 11 year old sister still sells them- I stock up for the whole year!
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for samoas (it's 8 am and I kinda want one right now!)... but I'd love to hear about recipes for all of them. You're right, these are definitely the best three kinds!
ReplyDeleteomg - i thought this was going to be important. i say you do tagalongs then send me some.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I love this! I vote for baking the Samoas - my all time fave!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! I have always thought that they should sell GS cookies online all year long. Think of all the money they could make to support their organization...and all the happy people that would benefit from eating cookies. My favorites are Samoas :)

ReplyDeleteSAMOAS! They are still Caramel Delights in my book. I used to be a Girl Scout and I sold the most cookies every year. It was a sense of satisfaction/a popularity contest.

Samoas!! My fav, by far. Now I'm craving them... must.find.Girl.Scout.
ReplyDeleteWell, Samoas are my favorite but thin mints seem like they might be easier, so it depends. Are you up for a challenge? Can't wait to see how they turn out!
ReplyDeleteSamoas!!! PLEASE! And then make them again in March for a cookie celebration after the Shamrock Shuffle ;)
ReplyDeleteAm I the only one that grew up with different names for these?! Samoas = caramel delights (very fitting because they are seriously delightful and my vote is 110% for them) and then tagalongs = peanut butter patties (very straightforward). Cannot wait to see a recipe! xo
