I'm interrupting today's normally scheduled programming (which was supposed to be an awesome chicken tortilla soup recipe) because I need your help lovelies. Before the holidays I asked for your help here, in choosing shoes to go with my rehearsal dinner dress. Your responses were so helpful that I'm soliciting your opinion again. This time deciding on....
I've been back and fourth on whether or not to have them all match, have two or three shoes in the mix, or to let them all go with a shoe of their choosing. I'm leaning toward having them choose from two or three pairs. This way they will match somewhat, but each lady can have a shoe that best fits their style. Here are the current favorites:
That is their J.Crew bridesmaid dress, for reference.
Also shown, are some of the flowers that will be in their bouquet.
Two questions:
Which shoe is your favorite?
Would it look nice to have all three pairs worn together across my six bridesmaids?
Thanks for being my personal fashion consultants - you're the best.

hm, difficult. i'm thinking that all three across the board might be a bit busy. no? definitely two pairs alternating would be nice, but if they can all agree on one that might be best. (the 2nd i love!)
ReplyDeletehmm... i like the idea of mixing two different pairs. i'd go for a mix between #1 and #2 -- they're really different but they're a similar silver tone
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of OCD so I would have them all wear the same shoe - but I love the color scheme you are going with. My favorite shoe...is...#2. I think #1 may not photograph well (depending on the sparkles) and #3 looks a little more suited for a winter wedding....but I can see what a tough choice this is!
ReplyDeleteo i like the second pair! xo
ReplyDeleteLove shoe #1 - no question.

I don't think the styles really lend themselves to a mixture, but I really love 1 and 2 separately. I think #1 is more fun and casual and #2 is more sophisticated!
ReplyDeleteI personally love the mix of different shoes. Sometimes I think a solid look can be too uniform, and I love #1 and #3! Also, Dilly Balls are my all time favorite bouquet flower, so happy and bouncy!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I'm usually all for giving the bridesmaids a specific color for a shoe and letting them pick their own style. This allows for them to have their own creativity with the outfit and may save them a few bucks (since they most likely already have a shoe in the color you like). But, I also completely understand wanting them all to have the same shoe and in that case I would go #2 all the way. It's classy and elegant. The other two are little too bling, bling for bridesmaids in my opinion.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Shari, I like giving them a color and letting them pick because they may already have a pair they can wear! But I do love all the ones you chose. I think #1 is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI'm in my cousins wedding this fall, and she is letting us choose our shoes and then we are dying them all the same color. I think having some variety is good, but you want them to be sort of in the same family. I really like options 1 and 3. They are different, but both have sparkles, so they aren't too dissimilar. Perhaps you could throw in a flatter option in silver glitter in case one of your bridesmaids is tall/doesn't want to stand in heels?
ReplyDeleteregardless, they are all cute and i love the dress!

I like #1 and #3 better than #2. But I think you could definitely have 6 bridesmaids wear 3 different pairs of shoes! I had 4 bridesmaids and I had them pick out their own pair of shoes in a color (they had to get nude) and it worked out really well. You could always go that route as well, and maybe show them these that you've already picked out to get an idea.
ReplyDeleteI like #2 for the heel height. But I really like #1 but I'm not too sure about the height. Yes, I am that practical. I'd just let them choose their own shoes and say "if anyone wears anything ugly, I'll have this mean girl come kick your ass". Done.
ReplyDeleteShoe #1 is my favorite bc it adds a little sparkle while also bringing out the black in the dress. Also I like the peep toe for the spring. I personally would do a uniform shoe with short dresses bc I find it just looks cleaner when it comes to pictures, but i know whatever you pick will be beautiful! Im sure Im going to have the same dilemma when my date gets closer!
ReplyDeleteLove #1! i think all 3 would be good too.
ReplyDeleteI love the peeptoes! I think the darker silver will go best with the dress!

My bridesmaids actually wore their own shoes in the same color and it was a nice way to let them bring a little of their style. I vote 2 for the style and that lovely brooch detail.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, let them choose - I would open it up even further to any silver shoe IMO. To matchey tends to look off bc one shoe may be hot on one and not on another, plus they'll love that they get to choose and wear again!
ReplyDeletelove all the choices! i think giving bridesmaids the option to pick their own shoe in whichever color you choose is best though. more practical for them and i think a lineup of all different shoes in one hue looks super chic.

ReplyDeleteI have to say Option 1 because half of my bridesmaids wore that shoe is a goldy/silver version. They are awesome and I want them for myself! The other half wore a neutral patent pump. I let them pick from the two so it would still look cohesive. Obvi ... I would have chose the sparkles!
ReplyDeleteLove #2! Although I let my bridesmaids choose their own & just gave a color suggestion. When it came down to it - I wanted them to find something comfortable and that they liked...

Love number one. Just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love number 3! They're all so cohesive that I think that would be great to have them each pick one of those three. It's a cute mix and match concept!
ReplyDeleteAny open pair would be fun. Don't let them mix and match both open and closed-- in my humble opinion.
ReplyDeletei love number 3! i think any of them would work well though im not crazy about open toed shoes.
ReplyDeleteI say number 2 because it looks the most wedding-ish and I think they're gorgeous too of course! I love 1 and 3 also, but they look a little more like a heel I'd wear to the bar or a new year eve type party :)
