dress up.

I love enlisting your fashion advice because a) you're all so fashionable and b) I'm so indecisive and outside opinions are always helpful. Below are some dress options for my upcoming bridal shower in New York. I've never used Rent the Runway but I think I'm going to give it a try. I want to wear something special without dropping the big bucks. Hopefully I'll walk away a satisfied customer!

Let me set the scene for the party: mid afternoon tea party with champagne, sandwiches, and pastries. It's at the end of March so it's the awkward time of year where it's technically Spring, but there's still a small chance of snow... As you can tell, I'm going more with the Spring vibe.

I'm also slightly obsessed with this dress - AND I'd get to keep it for only $89

which is your fave?

  1. I don't know why I'm leaning towards the second dress- the silver, sparkling one! It's catching my eye, but ALL of these would look great! Really love that last one, too! :)

  3. I would go with the blush lace dress! You are only a bride once and it feels the most bridal to me!

  5. Shoshanna for the win.

I'm going to breeze over the part that said New York in this post.

  6. I love dresses 1 + 2, 3 is great too but those cap sleeves might be annoying!

  7. #3 is one of my favorite dresses ever, but the completely open back might be too bold for a shower? I think my favorite is #2, the lace is bridal but the silver gives it a more party look!

  8. LOVE the Shoshonna (blush and lace scream "I'm the bride"). That $89 option is pretty darn cute too!

  11. #3 is absolutely perfect. I love it! However, that Dorothy Perkins one is great for the price!

  12. NUMBER #3!!!!!!!!! It is classic but modern and gives you a pop of color and the modern vibe which will be a hint to the big day!!! You could add a skinny patent black belt - HOT! But honestly any would be FAB!!!

  14. Lara, these are all gorgeous...I'd say I probably like 2 or 3 the best, but honestly I really love that last one! I can totally picture you in it, plus you'd get to keep it! :)

  16. #2 is definitely my favorite..although I also like the one you can keep for $89. Not sure if it is bridal shower appropriate..but it would be fun to have. :)

  17. 2 is definitely the obvious choice bc it is lacy and pretty and very bride appropriate. I happen to LOVE that Tibi dress though...so if you are feeling colorful, I would do that one! You would def. stand out in pics..not that you wouldn't anyway. xoxo elizabeth

  19. 1,2, and 3 are my favorite! I really do love RTR, but always try to do the "pay $25" for a second option just incase - it's worth the extra cost. I'd say #2 because you're the bride!

  23. Have to go with #2 or #3. #2 screams bride to me and #3 screams I'm the center of attention, look how amazing my dress is. It's like wearing a piece of art. Both are gorgeous!

  24. I echo Carly... 2 feels really bride-like, 3 is super fun! I am not a fan of #1 - it feels dated to me. Oh and i LOVE the Striped Dorothy Perkins and you could wear it for so many other things. Overall, I will pick #2 because you're the bride!

  25. The dress for $89 is the one! It has a Spring vibe without looking like you are on the Easter Parade. The stripes give it a modern feel and yet the style is classic. Hit send on it now.

  26. oooo 2 or 3 for sure- depending on whether you're looking for the feminine subtle or outgoing in your face bride look- either are PERFECT!

  27. I love RTR, have used it many many times! I agree with Taylor up above, the $25 for a second style can be a lifesaver sometimes! You get a backup size in the second dress style as well! The second one is obviously bridal, and the third more springy. I have seen the third dress worn in person and it a very beautiful, original and classy. Neither would be a bad choice. I think you should go with both #2 & #3, seeing them on will really help you decide.

However, if keeping the dress is a big deal breaker, the last striped dress is gorgeous! No going wrong there either.

  28. Seriously love #2! Also really like the purchase option though...

  29. Ooh... I definitely love #2, but my favorite is the one you get to keep!
