and now some links from around the web...
This is absolutely ridiculous. Are we really that dependent on our phones that we cannot get through a meal without them by our side!?Read these Real Simple reader's secrets to a happy marriage. My favorite answer "wine."
This recipe has me dreaming of summer barbecues (but it's made in the oven!). Must try this next week.
This probably isn't news to everyone - but it was to me... Anthropologie has wallpaper and it's fabulous! These are some of my favorite designs: composed city wallpaper, luxe shine wallpaper, whistling thorn wallpaper
As many of you know from the not so subtle hints on this blog - I want to get a dog the day we get back from our honeymoon. I came across this Illinois shelter and this amazing puppy and I cannot stop obsessing. Stupid timing. Also a question for my readers: Did any of you get a puppy while also working full time? How did you manage?
Completely in love with these chrome colored nails. So cool.
Feel better about eating pizza with an awesome recipe for whole wheat crust: here.
Have a happy weekend lovelies!!

Get a puppy, get a puppy, get a puppy!!!! I have a great dog walker, they can come while you are at all. Puppies (labs in particular) can stay in their crate for the same number of hours as they are months old. 3 months, 3 hours. So worth it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI did get a puppy in Chicago with a full time job...feel free to shoot me an email and I can get you the info to my dog walkers and some tips I used :)

I just saw the Anthro wallpaper and I'm in love with them! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you! You deserve it! :)
ReplyDeleteAhhh you need a puppyyyy :) We got Lola when Cam and I were both working full-time, but I worked close to our apartment so I came home at lunch EVERY day to let her out (well sometimes Cam would do it, but mainly it was me) and although it was kind of annoying, it was so worth it when I'd get home and see my little pup so happy to see me :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I got my pup while working full time. My bf and I were able to come home every few hours to check on it. The nice thing is the puppies sleep ALOT so they're usually okay by themselves. Also, if you crate them during the day they won't have accidents and it is the easier way to poppy train. Then, when they hit the terrible twos (aka four to seven months old) they're usually old enough to go to a local daycare center and let out all their energy. Good luck and keep us posted!
ReplyDeleteLOVED those Real Simple secrets ;) "wine" was my favorite too! On the puppy front, we haven't gotten a dog yet because I really want to have a yard for one first. Cats are so much easier, but dogs are great companions...it's a trade-off! I think you can make it work! hope all is well, pretty lady! xoxo {av}
ReplyDeleteMy now-husband and I got a puppy when we were both working full time, although his schedule is more flexible than mine and he was able to run home at lunch to let him out. We just made sure to spend lots of time with him on long walks before and after work, and we may have gotten lucky but accidents were really minimal. For the most part, dogs will not make a mess where they lay - meaning if they are in a crate that is only large enough for them to stand up and turn around they will not have an accident because then they would have to lie down in it. (Obviously this doesn't mean leave them for hours and hours on end, but you already knew that I'm sure!) :) For our dog Louie, we got a large crate for him to grow into, but when he was a puppy we shoved a box in the back so he didn't have as much space, and as he got bigger we made the box smaller and smaller until he had the entire crate. He only had ONE accident ever in it, and it was right after his first heartworm pill, which made him a little ill :(. Good luck!!
