While our apartment is in a really great spot, it still needs a few finishing touches. In addition to the artwork I mentioned on Wednesday, we're in need of a beautiful desk chair for our desk which is now in our bedroom and some fun throw pillows.
Alex is being an awesome designer friend, and is having some throw pillows made for us in this gorgeous Kelly Wearstler fabric. It will sit on our charcoal couch with grey and ivory solid throw pillows. So check and check there. They should be ready in a couple of weeks and I can't wait to get my hands on them!
I'm obsessed with a chair for our desk, and it's not cheap. I really cannot fathom spending over $500 on the below Crate and Barrel chair, especially when it will just be sitting at a desk, but I love it. The dark wood, the neutral color of the linen fabric - and the nail head trim just seals the deal. But, alas it is $500 more than I have to spend on a chair, so the search continues. If you know of a similar style chair for half the price, please do let me know!
We replaced the knobs in our kitchen with something to bring a touch of color and fun into the room. The below ceramic knobs from Anthropologie are such a happy color and make me smile every time I open a cabinet. With a few other touches of yellow here and there - this tiny space is starting to resemble a cute kitchen!
It's the little things in life that make me happy!
On a completely separate note - yesterday was my first day of work! It's only day one, but I already feel like it's going to be a great fit. I have two weddings this weekend (Friday and Saturday)!! I'm also planning a Sunday filled with cooking! It's so nice to be back in the kitchen. I made lemon bars on Wednesday and steak tacos for dinner last night. I think it's safe to say that the non diet "diet" is now non existent. Oh well!!
Happy Friday friends!

Send me some lemon bars! Also, I have a desk...with no chair...let's discuss.

ReplyDeleteThat chair really is beautiful! I've been trying to find economic finds to decorate our house with. It is so hard! Congratulations on your new job!

i have a VERY similar chair i got from west end last winter. it has nailhead trim all around the base, and i scored it for less than $100. i don't see it on their site now, but this one is a more plain version: http://www.westelm.com/products/porter-upholstered-dining-chairs-g262/?pkey=cdining-chairs-seating
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Home Goods? I am a sucker for tufting and nailheads and got a great white tufted desk chair with nailheads for $199 there last summer which is similar to this: http://www.ballarddesigns.com/gentry-chair/chairs/dining-chairs/10666?listIndex=13
ReplyDeleteHere is another inexpensive option you might like:
